The article specifically says that, "three other parcels in the township would qualify as a “motor vehicle fueling center.”

ReplyThis location may or may not be a bad one for a "Super Wawa", but this ordinance opens a Pandora's Box for other undisclosed locations in the township.
He may not even really want one in Jenkintown, but now that the zoning rule has been changed, it will be much more difficult for other locations to oppose.
Once again, developers get their way over the will of the people of Abington, due to the Republican controlled Board of Commissioners rolling over.
And I am sick of this canard that we will be " losing residents and businesses". This is the same scare tactic used in National politics: "Let me have my way or I'll take my ball and go home!!" BS!!! People want to work, live and build their businesses in Abington/ the U. S. A. because we are one of the greatest places to live (my reason) AND there is money to be made here!!
Lowering our standards to bow to powerful developers (against the advice of the Planning Board, no less!! Not known for their anti-development leaning) will lose us residents and businesses quicker than keeping Abington a desirable place to live.
Is this the start of the Wawafacation of Abington?

ReplyLocal residents VS. rich developer : Who do you think wins in Abington? Did they say where the "three other parcels in the township would qualify as a “motor vehicle fueling center.” are?
Be ready for the Wawafacation of Abington!

ReplyBy what logic? I guess if the Republican Voter Suppression effort could have eliminated 20% of eligible Democratic voters....

Dr. Altadonna has been a great asset to the Abington School system. I wish him much health and happiness in the future.
