ReplyApparently, whomever does the hiring of your assistants has a bad judge of character and probably doesn't do the proper background checks (present secretary excluded).
Secretary's Day was renamed to Administrative Professional's Day because in offices these days, there are more than just secretaries doing the work.
Also, every year I give my boss (the CEO) a card for Bosses' Day and throw a home made lunch for the other SVPs and VPs. Why? Because I appreciate working for the people that I support. When I think about the ungracious people that I could be working for (ahem), I feel blessed to work for the people that I do. -

There is nothing wrong with the intersection, it's the idiots driving through it that are the problem.

@winnie, This story is about the baby finally being able to go home. If someone was interested in the whole story, like how the parents are able to pay for this treatment, then all they would have to do is click on the link at the top labeled Follow Autumn's Journey. This is only one part in the story of Autumn's life.

I don't understand your comment. Her father has health insurance and donations have been made to her family. They are not on government assistance, so who do you think is paying for her medical bills... the insurance company is. Are you trying to say that you shouldn't use your insurance that you pay a premium for to save your child?

ReplyFirst, I’d like to offer a correction to your article. In reference to Aaron Swartz, you said “his suicide represents a tragic end to a life that could have been brilliant”. It should read: his suicide represents a tragic end to a life that WAS brilliant.
BTW, Aaron returned all downloaded content, but also ensured it "was not and would not be used, copied, transferred or distributed." Also, Aaron accessed MIT and JSTOR computers over an extraordinarily open network policy and with his legal access to JSTOR content.
Aaron and others like him ARE fighting for open access and social justice. The other artists in your article are fighting for income. These two situations are not comparable. -

ReplyIs there anything the residents should know about bringing their dogs to the dog park? Like, do their dogs have to wear their license tags, be up to date on vaccinations? Should owners bring bags to clean up after their dogs?
Just trying to ask questions before someone says, "well I didn't know." -

On the article Groups Will Counter-Protest Westboro Baptist Sunday

@Amanda. Have you ever seen a Westboro picket? They stand across the street with their signs and squeeky voices. We were there to block their signs from the children's view. Children should not have to see their vile signs while trying to go to sunday school or church. BTW, only 2 of the WBC group were supposed to attend. The counter protesters weren't there to disturb the peace and we didn't. Were you there?

Yeah, didn't notice the humorous tone in this one, it sounded more like a rant. I have read your other posts and giggled somewhere in most of them and enjoy your writing.
BTW, are you sure the Kuwait and Turkey incidences were by accident? Just kidding...see humour.
