The Philadelphia resident has a lengthy criminal history.
Abington Police arrested a Philadelphia man last month on felony drug charges in North Hills. Chavez Darryl ‘Swerve’ Brown, 28, of Arlington Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Jan. 5 just before 3 p.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Spruce and Tennis avenues while he was driving a Dodge Magnum. According to police, Brown was in possession of $615 and a search of the Magnum yielded a knotted plastic bag containing marijuana and four cell phones. A more thorough search at the Abington Police station yielded a plastic knotted bag in Brown’s underwear, which contained 24 small purple Ziploc baggies containing confirmed cocaine, police said. Known for its craft beers, Glenside’s “little secret” is out. Union Jack’s has been named to the “Greatest Beers of the World.” “Perhaps you have heard of it, and if you have not, you’re missing out on one of the most inviting and impressive bars the county has to offer,” said the GBW website. The beloved craft beers list isn’t the only thing worth checking out, according to the site. “Union Jack’s Glenside location provides a relaxed atmosphere with a variety of beer offerings and pub-friendly food that is sure to please the palate,” said the site. According to Whitpain Township Police Department, On August 28 at 2:10 a.m., Whipain police responded to Betsy Ln. for a report of six or seven subjects breaking into a residence. According to Whitpain Township Police reports, when police arrived they found one 18-year-old male victim bleeding heavily from a cut to his head. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Suburban Hospital for treatment where he received stitches to the injury. Witnesses reported to police that four subjects allegedly showed up at a party at the residence and were told to leave as they were not invited. They left after words were exchanged, but witnesses said that they returned 10 to 15 minutes later with more people. Allegedly, the unwanted subjects kicked open…

Andre Dula is charged with first degree and third degree murder in the killing of William Benjamin “Ben” Butler on July 17.
Andre Dula, the suspect in the North Hills shooting of William Benjamin "Ben" Butler, attended a preliminary hearing today at which the victim's brother told the court that Dula had chased after the victim with a gun. Dula is charged with first degree murder, third degree murder and related charges. Assistant District Attorney, John Walko, called two witnesses during the hearing, both of whom were at the scene on July 17: Kevin Butler, the brother of victim William Benjamin “Ben” Butler, and Chappell Washington-Freer, a friend of William Butler. Kevin Butler was a backseat passenger in the vehicle that William Butler was in on July 17. He testified that they were out looking for Dula and when they spotted him walking near the North Hills …

According to Upper Dublin Township Police, on Wednesday, July 18 at approximately 11:16 p.m., a police officer in the area of North Hills Manor allegedly observed an occupied white Ford Taurus in the parking lot of the Upper Dublin Community Pool, 401 Logan Ave. As officers drove towards the vehicle, allegedly, the driver, later identified as Asante Campbell, of Philadelphia, threw something out the passenger side window. According to the Upper Dublin Police report for the incident, the officer found a partially smoked blunt on the ground near the vehicle. The front seat passenger, identified as Marjani Boulden, of Glenside, allegedly admitted to police to smoking the marijuana cigarette that the police found on the ground.

From the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office: Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Abington Township Police Chief William J. Kelly announce the arrest of Andre Dula for the killing of Willam Butler. Dula is charged with first degree murder and related charges. On Tuesday, July 17 at 9:33 p.m., Abington Township Police responded to a reported shooting incident in the area of 77 North Hills Avenue in the North Hills section of Abington Township. After police arrived they learned that the shooting victim, William Butler, age 27, was transported to Abington Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of a gunshot wound. North Hills resident Robert Foell is an Abington transplant. He can’t claim to be a lifelong resident, but he’s been living in the township longer than most people — about 70 years, and he moved to the township when he was about 30. Saving you a trip to the abacus, that makes Foell 100 years old. Today. Happy birthday, Robert.
