PSU Abington Player is NEAC Athlete of the Week

Trish Watson claimed the school's all-time scoring record last weekend.

  Trish Watson, of Bensalem, was chosen as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after putting together a stellar performance for Penn State Abington. Watson, a senior for the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions, became the program’s all-time scoring leader this past weekend while also guiding her team to a pair of conference victories with two-game averages of 20.5 points, 8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2 steals.  Watson claimed Abington’s all-time scoring mark seven minutes into the second half of the Nittany Lions’ victory over SUNY Cobleskill Saturday, scoring on a fast-break layup to give her 1,159 career points and the prestigious record. Penn State Abington Has New All-Time Scoring Leader

... and Lady Lions defeats SUNY Cobleskill for first time in program history.

Senior shooting guard Trish Watson, of Bensalem, made history on Saturday afternoon becoming the Penn State Abington women's basketball all-time scoring leader as the Lady Lions tamed the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill, 85-43. The win also marked the first time Abington defeated SUNY Cobleskill (0-2 NEAC, 1-7) since both teams joined the North Eastern Athletic Conference in 2008 as the Lady Lions improved to 2-0 in the conference and 4-5 on the season.  The Lady Lions opened the first half as both teams traded baskets twice before a jumper from junior Janay Winston at 16:07 sparked a 28-0 run. PSU Abington Student is NEAC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior setter Krysten Boyd helped Penn State Abington clinch a playoff berth.

  Senior Krysten Boyd, of Philadelphia, and graduate of Lincoln High School, has been named as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after her outstanding play for the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions.  The senior setter compiled 145 digs (6.90 d/set) during a 3-2 week for the Nittany Lions, which included 104 digs (8.00 d/set) in three conference matches.  During NEAC Crossover play held at Penn State Abington this weekend, Boyd tallied a season-best 37 digs in a 3-1 victory over SUNY Cobleskill Saturday before topping that mark with 39 digs in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Keuka later in the day.
