Rafael Robb will not be getting out of prison next week. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported via its Twitter feed that the State Board of Probation and Parole has reversed its decision to release Robb, who was convicted in the 2006 bludgeoning death of his wife, Ellen, at their Upper Merion home. Members of Ellen Robb's family met with the chairman of the parole board yesterday. Gary Gregory, Ellen Robb's brother, told WPVI-TV that he learned of the parole board's reversal earlier this morning. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman and State Representative Mike Vereb, who first spoke out against Robb's release last week, have scheduled a press conference for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the District Attorney's offices in Norristown.
After meeting with family members of murder victim Ellen Robb, the state parole board is said to be reconsidering a decision that would have made the former U. Penn professor a free man next week.

Officials say Ellen Robb's family deserves to be heard by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; a meeting has been scheduled.
The family of Ellen Robb, the wife and mother who was brutally murdered by her husband, Rafael Robb, just before Christmas in 2006, has been granted an opportunity to speak to the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole regarding its recent decision to release Robb from prison after officials uncovered a law requiring the board to give victims a voice in the parole process. A University of Pennsylvania professor who confessed to beating his wife to death with a chin-up bar at their Upper Merion home a few days before Christmas in 2006 is set to be released from prison later this month. KYW Newsradio reports that Rafael Robb, once recognized among the world's leading economics theorists, had his parole approved last November. If he is released as expected, he will have served close to the minimum portion of his 5-10 year sentence for voluntary manslaughter. The 62-year-old Robb, who is originally from Israel, pleaded guilty to that charge in November 2007 as part of a plea agreement.
