'Scrappy' Thief Gets Three to 12 Months
An Abington man was sentenced this week for his role in stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of scrap metal in Abington and Hatboro.
Quinten Watts, 23, of Prospect Avenue, Willow Grove, was sentenced to three to 12 months in jail and two years’ worth of probation after he and Dane Edward Sarden, 22, of Fairview Avenue, Willow Grove, allegedly stole metal from three different locations, according to a phillyburbs.com story. According to the story, Hatboro police arrested Watts and Sarden on Jan. 6 as they were preparing to sell metal pieces they had allegedly stolen earlier that morning from Dudlik Industries in the 300 block of Jacksonville Road to a scrap metal dealer. The items included metal pipes and beams. A witness said he or she saw a silver Toyota SUV leaving the scene … and police found a silver Toyota SUV, with large beams hanging out the back at a scrap …
