A vodka-induced left turn onto Houston and some retail thefts

  Retail theft … Appaula Vent Jackson, 20, of Venango Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 6 at 7:10 p.m. after he had been stealing from Kmart, his place of employment, for the past several weeks, police said. The store’s loss prevention manager said that on Nov. 6, he found six Nintendo DS systems in Jackson’s bag in the back room of the store. When confronted, Jackson provided a written statement admitting to attempting to take the systems, which were worth a total of $1,200. Jackson also said that he stole an Xbox 360 Halo 4 edition worth $350 from the stock room.  Retail theft … Tonya N.   Disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, harassment and criminal mischief … Chakeia Amir, 33, of Station Avenue, Glenside, was arrested Sept. 23 at 9:57 p.m. following a disturbance call in which the complainant said Amir threw a high heel shoe, hitting the complainant in the head as the complainant attempted to leave, police said. According to police, Amir also ripped the windshield wiper blades off of the complainant’s vehicle. Stolen textbooks at MCCC, stolen rings and some honest DUI defendants

  Reckless endangerment … On Sept. 12 at 4:10 p.m. officers responded to Montgomery County Community College for a report that someone was trying to sell four stolen textbooks to the bookstore. Andrew Choma, 28, of the 200 block of Runner Street, Jenkintown, became nervous and ran to a silver Hyundai and almost struck the MCCC Security vehicle while fleeing in his car. He was located driving north on Butler Pike, stopped by an Ambler police officer, and taken into custody. Three additional textbooks were located in his vehicle bringing the value of the stolen books to $1,484. He was charged with two counts of recklessly endangering another person, theft and receiving stolen property. Choma was arraigned by District Justice Borek and bail …

  DUI and careless driving … Tamira Rollins, 25, of North Avondale Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 18 at 1:18 a.m. following a traffic stop after she veered into the wrong lane of travel on Rodman Avenue near Old York Road and drove over a concrete center median, police said. According to police, Rollins, who smelled of alcohol, was not sure why she was pulled over. She said she turned off Old York Road to Washington Lane, but she was several miles from that intersection; she also said that she was coming from Philadelphia.
