Retail theft … Appaula Vent Jackson, 20, of Venango Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 6 at 7:10 p.m. after he had been stealing from Kmart, his place of employment, for the past several weeks, police said. The store’s loss prevention manager said that on Nov. 6, he found six Nintendo DS systems in Jackson’s bag in the back room of the store. When confronted, Jackson provided a written statement admitting to attempting to take the systems, which were worth a total of $1,200. Reckless endangerment … On Sept. 12 at 4:10 p.m. officers responded to Montgomery County Community College for a report that someone was trying to sell four stolen textbooks to the bookstore. Andrew Choma, 28, of the 200 block of Runner Street, Jenkintown, became nervous and ran to a silver Hyundai and almost struck the MCCC Security vehicle while fleeing in his car. He was located driving north on Butler Pike, stopped by an Ambler police officer, and taken into custody. Three additional textbooks were located in his vehicle bringing the value of the stolen books to $1,484.
