Man Killed by Train is 20-Year-Old Ardsley Man, Police Say

The incident appears to be an accident, according to police.

  Abington Police Deputy Chief John Livingood said today that the man who was struck by a Lansdale-Doylestown regional rail train at the North Hills train station was a 20-year-old man from Ardsley. According to Abington Police, the man entered the track area and tried to cross the fence separating the tracks at the station. When the victim saw the westbound train, he attempted to return to the platform. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. “All indications are that this was an accident, but a follow-up investigation will be done by SEPTA Police and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office,” Livingood said in a press release. -- Initial post below: -- A man apparently died at the North Hills train station Thursday night.
