Penn State Abington Basketball Player Mike Marvin, of Horsham, was named the ECAC Division III Player of the Week of the South region, and was recently honored NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week. Marvin guided the Nittany Lions to three conference victories behind averages of 23.3 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 67 percent (31- of-46) from the field. The sophomore forward opened the week with a game-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor to go along with seven boards, two assists and a block in a 78-66 win over Lancaster Bible College Jan. 23. The Penn State Abington men's cross country teams will celebrate a Nittany Lion athletic program milestone Saturday when they become the first Abington athletic teams to compete in a NCAA Division III post-season championship event since the college joined the association in 2008. Senior Krysten Boyd, of Philadelphia, and graduate of Lincoln High School, has been named as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after her outstanding play for the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions. The senior setter compiled 145 digs (6.90 d/set) during a 3-2 week for the Nittany Lions, which included 104 digs (8.00 d/set) in three conference matches. During NEAC Crossover play held at Penn State Abington this weekend, Boyd tallied a season-best 37 digs in a 3-1 victory over SUNY Cobleskill Saturday before topping that mark with 39 digs in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Keuka later in the day.
