PSU Abington Forward Named Athlete of the Week

The Horsham resident wins the award … twice

  Penn State Abington Basketball Player Mike Marvin, of Horsham, was named the ECAC Division III Player of the Week of the South region, and was recently honored NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week. Marvin guided the Nittany Lions to three conference victories behind averages of 23.3 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 67 percent (31- of-46) from the field. The sophomore forward opened the week with a game-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor to go along with seven boards, two assists and a block in a 78-66 win over Lancaster Bible College Jan. 23.  His shooting continued into the weekend, as he hit the game-winning jumper in the Nittany Lions' thrilling 66-64 road victory over Gallaudet University Saturday and …

Penn State Abington Cross Country Heads to Mid-East Regionals

The Nittany Lions hit up the 2012 NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Cross Country Championships tomorrow in Newville.

The Penn State Abington men's cross country teams will celebrate a Nittany Lion athletic program milestone Saturday when they become the first Abington athletic teams to compete in a NCAA Division III post-season championship event since the college joined the association in 2008. The teams will toe the line at the 2012 NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa. with the 8,000-meter race starting at 11 a.m. Alexander Kane, who was the North Eastern Athletic Conference's individual champion and runner of the year, will lead a pack of Nittany Lions runners consisting of Sufyan Musah, Nicholas Volpe, Nathaniel Wilson, and Austin Lichtman to represent …

PSU Abington Student is NEAC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior setter Krysten Boyd helped Penn State Abington clinch a playoff berth.

  Senior Krysten Boyd, of Philadelphia, and graduate of Lincoln High School, has been named as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after her outstanding play for the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions.  The senior setter compiled 145 digs (6.90 d/set) during a 3-2 week for the Nittany Lions, which included 104 digs (8.00 d/set) in three conference matches.  During NEAC Crossover play held at Penn State Abington this weekend, Boyd tallied a season-best 37 digs in a 3-1 victory over SUNY Cobleskill Saturday before topping that mark with 39 digs in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Keuka later in the day.
