More Awards for PSU Abington’s Forward

The sophomore basketball player from Horsham keeps raking in the accolades.

  Penn State Abington basketball player Mike Marvin earned yet another award yesterday. The Philadelphia Area Small College Basketball Association awarded the star forward the Sam Cozen Player of the Week Award at a luncheon. The Cozen award is bestowed upon a local basketball player who has excelled in his pursuits on the hard-court, and recipients are nominated and voted upon by a selection of the area’s college and university basketball coaches at several points over the season. Marvin’s play throughout the season has been exceptional, but his past two weeks have been particularly noteworthy. PSU Abington Forward Named Athlete of the Week

The Horsham resident wins the award … twice

  Penn State Abington Basketball Player Mike Marvin, of Horsham, was named the ECAC Division III Player of the Week of the South region, and was recently honored NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week. Marvin guided the Nittany Lions to three conference victories behind averages of 23.3 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 67 percent (31- of-46) from the field. The sophomore forward opened the week with a game-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor to go along with seven boards, two assists and a block in a 78-66 win over Lancaster Bible College Jan. 23.  His shooting continued into the weekend, as he hit the game-winning jumper in the Nittany Lions' thrilling 66-64 road victory over Gallaudet University Saturday and …
