Penn State Abington junior basketball player Mike Colacci, of Middlesex, N.J., earned yet another accolade this week. The Philadelphia Area Small College Basketball Association awarded the guard with the Sam Cozen Player of the Week Award. The Cozen award is bestowed upon a local basketball player who has excelled in his pursuits on the hard-court, and recipients are nominated and voted upon by a selection of the area's college and university basketball coaches at several points over the season. Colacci's play throughout the season has been exceptional, but his past two weeks have been particularly noteworthy as he was recently named the NEAC Conference Player of the Week and ECAC Division III Player of the Week for his performance during …

Mike Colacci has been named the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Colacci led Abington to two conference victories after averaging 25.5 points per game while shooting nearly 45 percent (13-of-29) from the field and hitting all 19 of his free throw attempts. The 6-foot guard scored a game- and season-high 31 points in Abington's 108-104 victory over Penn State Berks Wednesday, as he went 8-of-15 from the field and a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line, which included four clutch makes from the charity stripe in the final minutes to help secure the win.
