Glenside's Maddy Evans Is Beantown Bound
Evans to join the new National Women's Soccer League in its first professional season.
Abington High School graduate Maddy Evans was an all-star on the Penn State University's women's soccer team. As one of the team's midfielders, Evans led the Lady Lions to their first national championship in the NCAA. Though they suffered a loss, the Nittany Lions were proud of their midfielder. "One of the best and most hard-working players in the country," said the Lady Lions Head Soccer Coach Erica Walsh of Evans. "We anticipate her helping us in the midfield, but she can play anywhere on the field and will be an amazing asset to our group." The Boston Breakers agreed.
