Philly Man Sentenced for Abington Home Invasion

Anibal Pastor, 18, of the 12000 block of Rambler Road, Philadelphia gets state time for his role in an August 2011 home invasion on McFadden Drive in Abington.

  Montgomery County Judge William Carpenter sentenced Pastor to 5 to 10 years in state prison yesterday. According to a story in Phillyburbs.com, the sentence is the same that his co-defendant, Jeffrey Lopergolo, 20, of Philadelphia received in July. Pastor will also have to pay his have of $9,100 in restitution to the complainant. See the Phillyburbs.com story here. The home invasion happened in August of last year in the unit block of McFadden Drive in Abington. According to the complainant’s testimony during Pastor’s preliminary trial in November of last year, two men entered her house through an open kitchen window and entered her second-floor bedroom. Co-Defendant in Abington Home Invasion Sentenced

Jeffrey Lopergolo, 20, of Philadelphia, was on probation when he robbed and an assaulted an Abington woman in August with an alleged accomplice.

  A Philadelphia man who invaded a home in Abington last August, assaulting a 77-year-old woman in the process, was sentenced to five to 10 years in state prison, according to a phillyburbs.com story.  Jeffrey Lopergolo, 20, of the 8800 block of Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, pleaded guilty in July to robbery, conspiracy and burglary in connection with an Aug. 24 home invasion in the unit block of McFadden Drive in Abington, according to the story. Details Emerge in August Home Invasion Case

Complainant: Both defendants were wielding hatchets

The defendants in the Aug. 24 Huntingdon Valley home invasion case had different experiences in court earlier today. Jeffrey Lopergolo, 19, of the 8800 block of Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, waived his preliminary trial in front of District Judge Joseph Dougherty. His co-defendant, Anibal Pastor, 17, of the 12000 block of Rambler Road, Philadelphia, got to hear testimony from the complainant — a 77-year old woman. Lopergolo and Pastor have been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, theft, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary and related charges. Thank you also to Judge Dougherty for looking out for the citizens of Abington.We can only hope that these two thugs receive more than 25-30 years. I have not checked what the maximum sentence is.
