An explosion at a Hatboro home sends locals for emergency care.
Three people were left burned after a gas explosion at a Hatboro home in Upper Moreland Township. Two have been taken to local hospitals for care. According to the Department of Public Safety of Montgomery County, emergency crews were called out at 10:38 p.m. to a call in Upper Moreland Township to the 2700 block of Broadway Avenue. A medivac helicopter was called in, and landed at Willow Grove Mall in order to transport one victim who had "life threatening injuries" according to scanner reports. A second victim was being taken to a local hospital. An outage at a Hatboro Verizon center has temporarily blocked subscribers from calling Montgomery County 911
According to a Pottstown Mercury Facebook post, Verizon Mobile customers are without access to Montgomery County 911. The outage affects about seven municipalities, according to PhillyBurbs: Hatboro, Upper and Lower Moreland, Upper Dublin, Horsham, Abington and Cheltenham. Due to an outage at a Verizon central office in Hatboro at around 8 a.m., customers will be temporarily unable to contact the 911 call center and are instead advised to contact their local police department for emergency assistance. I know for a fact that all emergency centers including hospitals have back up generators. I find it appaling that the back up generator was not working during a power outage. That is a disgrace! Hopefully verizon will make sure that it is working in future!! more ›
