Maple Avenue Fire Follow-Up

Fire crews were again dispatched to the 200 block of Maple Avenue in North Hills this morning.

  Crews arrived at the house at about 6:30 a.m. today to extinguish some of the debris that was thrown outside the house by fire fighters following a late-afternoon fire on Monday, Abington Fire Marshal Ken Clark said. “[The fire fighters] wet down the debris inside the house, and then throw it out the window and then they wet it down again,” Clark said. “At nighttime, the moisture evaporates, some of the items can become dry and the smoldering items can rekindle.” Clark stressed that the building was not on fire. As for the building, Clark said the cause of the Monday fire is still unknown, but said, “We’re still looking at the rear of the property in area around the deck.” The sole resident of the house arrived on the scene at about 4:30…
