Cheltenham Fire Under Investigation
Fire officials from the Pennsylvania State Police, Montgomery County and Abington and Cheltenham townships were on the scene; no one was injuired
A U-Shaped building in the 8400 block of Limeklin Pike is still smoking following a late-night fire. Cheltenham Fire Marshal Joe O’Neill said moments ago that units got a call for smoke in the area at about 11 p.m. last night. The first alarm attempted to go inside the building, but it was quickly determined that the fire was throughout the structure. “We backed out and used an exterior master stream,” O’Neill said. “It was determined pretty early that no one was going inside so we set up a collapse zone. Basically, the building was written off — there was no way to stop it.” According to O’Neill, the building was vacant.
