Our Lady Help of Christians to Merge with St. David School

Announced at the Jan. 6 Blue Ribbon Commission, Abington Catholic school students merge with Upper Moreland’s Catholic school.

[Updated 4:45 p.m., Jan. 6] Early this afternoon, Jan. 6, the Blue Ribbon Commission of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia presented its strategic plan for Catholic schools sustainability in the region. The commission presented its plan to parish pastors and school presidents and principals of the 156 elementary schools in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties, as well as regional high schools, under the management of the archdiocese. The commission was expected to announce school closures and mergers. Philly Archdiocese to Stream Presser on Blue Ribbon Commission

  The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is expected to live stream through its website (http://archphila.org) a press conference on the results of the archdiocese's Blue Ribbon Commission, according to a report from phillyburbs.com. According to a recent Patch article, the commission will present findings on which Catholic schools in the region may or may not be closing. The findings will be presented to parish pastors and school presidents and principals on Jan. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at Neumann University in Aston, Delaware County.
