We are ... getting a new AD. Penn Staters at the Abington campus will soon have a new athletic director (AD). Shawne McCoy, according to ReadMedia, will begin his new role officially of Feb. 4. Chancellor Dr. Karen Wiley Sandler announced the new AD to succeed Dr. Karen Weaver, who stepped down on Dec. 31, 2012 to pursue a faculty post at Drexel University after six years at Penn State Abington. "I am excited and honored to be selected as the new director of athletics, intramurals and recreation at Penn State Abington," said McCoy.
