Abington Police arrested a Philadelphia man who allegedly had suspected marijuana and small bags commonly used to package marijuana in his vehicle. Bruce Bennett, 38, of Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, was arrested March 2 at about 1 p.m. near the corner of Township Line Road and Zane Avenue following a traffic stop for having tinted glass on his blue Mercury Grand Marquis and for having an unsecured exhaust pipe, police said. According to police, Bennett said there was a small amount of marijuana in the back seat of the vehicle. Police said they found a paper bag containing a sandwich bag, which contained six black-tinted Ziploc bags containing suspected marijuana. Possession of a controlled substance … Richard George Liggins, 44, of West Huntingdon Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Feb. 6 at 9:27 p.m. following a traffic stop for a malfunctioning brake light near the corner of Moreland and Davisville roads in which he was a passenger, police said. When police made contact with Liggins, he allegedly removed a small amount of suspected marijuana from his pants and threw it out the window at the officer’s feet. When asked what he did, Liggins said, “[Expletive], I can’t believe I just threw weed at the cops.” When asked if he had any more contraband, Liggins allegedly said, “I got a little rock down my pants,” and police retrieved a small clear bag of confirmed crack.
