Five-Day-a-Week Trash Coming to Abington

Forget that Monday morning walk with the gray bin ...

  Abington Public Works Director Ed Micciolo said in a presentation this week that the township will likely be heading toward trash pickup five days a week.  Micciolo, giving a presentation at the public works committee meeting, said having trash picked up every weekday rather than four times a week will be more efficient, reducing daily collection routes. The changeover would happen April 15.  Right now, every resident puts his or her paper waste — the gray bin — out on Monday and has his or her trash and recyclables out on the neighborhood’s designated trash day.
