Five-Day-a-Week Trash Coming to Abington

Abington Public Works Director Ed Micciolo said in a presentation this week that the township will likely be heading toward trash pickup five days a week. Micciolo, giving a presentation at the public works committee meeting, said having trash picked up every weekday rather than four times a week will be more efficient, reducing daily collection routes. The changeover would happen April 15. Right now, every resident puts his or her paper waste — the gray bin — out on Monday and has his or her trash and recyclables out on the neighborhood’s designated trash day. My yard waste and paper got skipped Monday first day of the switch. They are working on the road but its open before 9am and after 3pm.   more ›
