Abington Police arrested a man in Glenside following a pedestrian stop near the corner of Jenkintown and Briarwood roads; the defendant looked like a burglary suspect, according to police. Brandon Todd Wilson, 20, of West Avenue, Jenkintown, was arrested Feb. 7 just after midnight after he was seen walking east on Jenkintown Road. According to police, Wilson appeared nervous, kept looking away and kept moving his body every time police moved toward his left side. Following a pat down, police said they found a gun in Wilson’s left jacket pocket — an H&R Model 999 Sportsman .22LR nine-shot revolver; it was loaded with eight .22-cal. A Dresher man was arrested in Abington for having a loaded gun in his glove box.
Abington Police arrested Edward Francis Bennis, 29, of Thrush Drive, Dresher, Jan. 10 at 11:51 p.m. following a traffic stop. Bennis was driving faster than 50 mph while he was headed eastbound on Jenkintown Road, where the speed limit is 35 mph, police said. The stop happened near the corner of Tyson and Fairhill avenues. According to police Bennis' license was DUI-suspended and Bennis had a .40-cal. Smith & Wesson handgun in the glove box of his vehicle. The weapon was loaded with 13 rounds of PPU 40 hollow point bullets. Bennis does not have a license to carry a firearm, police said. A Philadelphia man was arrested late last month after he caused an incident in Willow Grove Park mall and was found to have a gun in his waistband. Aleksey Borisov, 24, of Comly Street, was arrested Dec. 20 shortly after 9 p.m. following a disturbance on the third level of the mall. According to police, a Willow Grove Park mall security guard said he saw Borisov and two other men spit in a public area on mall property and were told to stop. Upon the request to stop, Borisov said several explicit things about the security guard’s mother, and then threatened to physically harm the guard. As police took Borisov into custody, they found a black, semi-automatic Smith and Wesson M&P Pro Series in his waistband. According to police, the gun was…

A Philadelphia man was arrested after he was found to have an unregistered gun hidden in his pants. Kristofer Cade, 34, of Upland Way, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 11 at about 1:15 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Mount Carmel and Maple avenues in which he was a passenger in a silver Chevrolet Tahoe that blew a red light at the corner of Limekiln Pike and Mount Carmel Avenue. According to police, there was an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle; there was also a partially burnt blunt containing suspected marijuana on the vehicle’s center console.
