American Color Print Society Announces Awards

The Philadelphia-based organization kicked-off its exhibition locally this Saturday.

The American Color Print Society held an opening reception for its exhibition, which will be on display at the Abington Art Center through April 28. The exhibition showcases new work from the society’s artists. American Color Print Society President Carole J. Meyers announced the awards. See the video. Third Prize Stan Cluck Memorial Award

Abington Art Center Scholarship a Gift

A $10K scholarship at the Abington Art Center means more classes for more people.

  A couple’s anniversary gift could mean art classes for the less fortunate. The Abington Art Center is accepting applications for the Gabriel and Alma Elias Scholarship; the scholarship will be doled out to people or families looking to enroll in art classes, camps and workshops who may not have the financial means to do so. According to Abington Art Center Development Director Betsy Kilkenny, the Elias family has been a supporter of the center for many years. However, this particular donation was the idea of Gabriel and Alma Elias’ children ... it was a 65th anniversary gift. “Their parents had a foundation and for many years they basically taught their children the importance of philanthropy,” Kilkenny said. “They instilled in them a …

AAC 'Uncorked'

Abington Art Center offers a preview to its Solo Series ... paired with wine

  Is there a better pair than wine and art? OK, maybe wine and cheese, or wine and chocolate, but they’re not nearly as interesting to look at. Tonight, the Abington Art Center will hold “Uncorked: Pairings of Art, Wine and Food. The event will feature contemporary artwork from artists: Each artist is part of the Abington Art Center’s Solo Series 2012 this summer. The series kicks off May 20 with a public reception and opening party.  See more about the artists and the Solo Series. In addition to art, “Uncorked” will feature music, an auction, food and wine from the following companies: "Uncorked" starts at 7:30 p.m. in the outdoor pavilion.
