Alexa Marie Watters, a 17-year-old Glenside resident, was recognized for her help in capturing Leroy Dade, a Philadelphia man, who robbed her house in June 2011. “We expect police officers to be brave, because that's what we're trained to do,” Ferman said, “but when a 17 year old displays incredible courage and bravery, that’s something worthy of special attention. A second preliminary hearing for the remaining suspects is set for May 24 before District Judge Andrea Duffy
At the District Court of Judge Andrea Duffy Wednesday morning, 12 of the 32 suspects arrested May 8 in connection with a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking ring waived all charges against them to a July 5 arraignment in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Jason Whalley said a preliminary hearing will be held May 24 at 10:45 a.m. for the remaining 20 suspects, including what he called the "big players": Francesco "Frank" Messina, Dave Penna and Jeff Penna. The defendant in the June home invasion case in Glenside was sentenced to 20 to 40 years in state prison Monday. Leroy Dade, of Philadelphia, pled guilty to robbery, burglary and aggravated assault — all felonies — after the first day of testimony at the Montgomery County Courthouse. According to police, Dade, 54, entered a home in the 2300 block of Oakdale Avenue on June 15 through an unlocked door; a 17-year-old girl was home at the time. He threatened, but did not injure the girl. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said that toward the end of the invasion, Dade told the girl to lie on the floor and count to 200 as he left; Dade said he would hurt her if she got up, and kill her if she tried any tricks. The Philadelphia man who purchased thousands of dollars worth of stolen items from two men who allegedly committed burglaries in Abington and neighboring areas, was sentenced yesterday.

According to the Times Herald, Robert Snyder, 73, of Fillmore Street, Philadelphia, was sentenced yesterday in Montgomery County Court to 10 years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit receiving stolen property, receiving stolen property in connection. He ran the now-defunct Lawndale Coin and Collectibles on Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia. At sentencing, Snyder paid $250,000 in restitution. According to the story, the burglaries took place in Abington, Cheltenham, Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland, Upper Dublin and Montgomery townships; there were also burglaries in Bucks and Philadelphia counties. A total of 32 suspects were arrested in connection with a methamphetamine distribution network which spanned from northern Montgomery County to Philadelphia.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman has announced the arrest of 32 suspects in connection with a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation, which spanned from northern Montgomery County to Philadelphia and included 12 residents of Lansdale Borough and Hatfield, Towamencin, Montgomery and Upper Gwynedd townships. Methamphetamine was recovered from a motorcycle repair shop in Lansdale, according to the report, just one of many locations where police executed a search warrant. One of those arrested in charged with drug violations include Ronald Krauss, owner of Bad Ronald's Custom Tattooing in Lansdale.
