Trivia Night and Oktoberfest, This Week in Abington

Lorimer Park, at 183 Moredon Road, Will hold a fall migratory bird walk on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8 a.m. Ruth Pfeffer will lead the way. Bring binoculars and field guides The event is free, but registration is required. For more information, call 215-947-3477.

Copper Beech PTA will hold a trivia night (for adults) on Friday, Sept. 27 at North Penn VFW, Post 676 on Jenkintown Road. Tickets must be reserved in advance and are limited. Cost is $200 per table of eight, or $25 per person and includes beef, beverages and snacks. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Glenside will host its fifth annual Oktoberfest to benefit Lutheran Disaster Response on Saturday, Sept. 28. Lutheran Disaster Response is a non-profit organization that who have been affected by natural disasters. The Oktoberfest is a full day of German food and beers, including many homebrews from members of St. Paul’s congregation; and traditional German dancing with community participation led by GTV Almrausch, and musical entertainment by St. Paul’s own house band and an accordion matador Don Bitterlich.

Tickets are $20 for adults; $10 for ages 10-20; and $25 at the door. They are available by calling 215-884-3005 of on the website at www.stpaulsglenside.org
