'Feather Our Nest' and a CAPT Halloween Party, This Week in Abington

Check out a few events happening in Abington this week.

The Friends of Briar Bush will hold its most important fundraiser of the year on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Keneseth Israel Synagogue in Elkins Park. The event, called “Feather our Nest,” will feature a dinner prepared by Whole Foods, complimentary drinks, a variety of silent auction items and a live auction. Costumes are optional.

The Abington School Board will meet Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the school district administration building on Highland Avenue.

Abington Township will hold a budget workshop on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the township building on Old York Road.

The 19th Annual Citizens and Police Together (CAPT) Halloween Safety Party will be held for preschoolers and elementary school students in Copper Beech, Good Shepherd and St. Luke's schools, Oct. 26.

From 5 to 7 p.m., kids can trick-or-treat in costume, to merchants along Keswick Avenue in Glenside. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Glenside-Weldon School gym will be open for costume parades and contests, games, a magic show and balloon sculpting. Parents are encouraged to come in costume, too! This event is sponsored by Abington Police, CAPT and Glenside Kiwanis.
