Mighty Macs Name Bryan Torresani As Head Baseball Coach

The Abington-native's name might look familiar. His father's coached at Abington HS for more than 30 years.

The baseball genes must run in the family.

Bryan Torresani, of Willow Grove, was named the Immaculata University's baseball coach according to a recent release from the college.

The Torresani name might look familiar. His father, Dave, has been the coach of the Abington High School baseball team for more than 30 years.

Others might recognize the last name because of a local teacher.

"My wife is a teacher in the Upper Dublin School District, so we are pretty settled," Torresani said in a recent interview with Daily Local. "When this job opened, I had been looking for an area Division III head coaching job, so this has been perfect."

With so many local ties, Torresani said he is happy to take over for the Mighty Mac's team.

"It’s been a goal for a long time to work full time at a college athletic department and be a head baseball coach," Torresani said to the Daily Local. "When this job opened, it fit all of those criteria. I am very glad to be here."

Torresani comes to Immaculata from La Salle University, where he has been since September, serving primarily as a recruiting coordinator, said the release.

Torresani also played at the Division III level at Elizabethtown College, and has Division I (La Salle), Division II (Chestnut Hill College) and high school (Hatboro-Horsham) coaching experience.

The new coach will start with just 30 days to prepare for the upcoming Immaculata season.

"I am coming in at a time when you have to fundraise, get ready for your spring trip, and jump right into recruiting," said Torresani to the Daily Local. "I am leaning heavily on my experience right now."

He will also serve as Immaculata’s facilities coordinator.
