Abington Teachers to Talk at National Art Conference

The junior and senior high schools will be representing the district in San Diego next year.

Two Abington teachers have been selected to make presentations at this year's national conference of the National Art Education Association in March in San Diego.  

Abington Junior High School teacher Julia Rix will present “Making Connections with Community Organizations through Arts Publications,” which is about the work that she has been doing by connecting students with local groups such as Briar Bush Nature Center

Abington Senior High School teacher Nicole Caracciolo will present  “Leap Ahead: Grow Personally and Professionally through Travel/Study Abroad Programs,” which relates to her work in finding grants for professional development that enrich what she brings to her students in the classroom.

The NAEA National Convention is the world's largest art education convention, according to its website. The 3-day convention includes over 1,000 workshops, panels and seminars by world-acclaimed educators, artists, researchers, and scholars.
