Dean: Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program Deadline Looming

State Rep. Madeleine Dean said time is running out to apply for the state's property tax/rent rebate program.

The deadline to submit an application for a rebate on taxes paid in 2012 is Dec. 31 of this year, according to State Rep. Madeleine Dean, D-153.

Every year, the state offers assistance to thousands of Pennsylvanians 65 and older, widows and widowers 50 and older, and people with disabilities, 18 and older, through the program.

“The deadline to apply to the program is fast approaching,” Dean said. “I encourage anyone who needs help applying to contact my office. My staff and I are happy to help them complete an application free. The application process only takes a couple of minutes, and applicants should receive their rebate check within a few weeks of applying.”
