Two Glenside Men Allegedly Saw Off Wire at SEPTA Station

Abington Police arrested two Glenside men after they were seen using a battery-powered saw to cut and remove braided metal wire at the North Hills Train Station in Abington, police said.

Taylor Hartsough, 22, and Ryan Lee Spillane, 25, both of Penn Avenue, were arrested Oct. 18 at about 12:15 p.m. after they were seen at the train station, police said. According to police, Hartsough and Spillane left a piece of wire on the inbound train tracks ... which was struck by a train heading toward Philadelphia; a battery-powered saw was also left on the tracks.

Spillane's vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer, was found in the train station's south lot, police said, and it was connected to a trailer, which contained a piece rolled-up braided wire belonging to SEPTA. According to police, there were several power tools in the Explorer, as well as another piece of stolen braided wire.
