Abington Police arrested two people earlier this month on drug charges following a vehicle stop at Willow Grove Park mall.
Amanda McNair, 33, of East Mount Airy Avenue, Philadelphia; and Robert Edward Jenkinson, 26, of Westbury Drive, Souderton, were arrested Oct. 1, shortly before 5 p.m. near the parking structure in the mall parking lot.
According to police, McNair, the passenger in the vehicle, "quickly ducked down out of sight" after she spotted a police vehicle; Jenkinson, the driver, looked to say, “It’s a cop,” police said.
McNair, who was visibly shaking, gave police a fake name and date of birth, police said, and it was revealed that Jenkinson had a suspended driver’s license.
As McNair was looking through her purse to find a form of identification, police said they saw a plastic bag consistent with those used to package illicit drugs. There was also a blue wax paper envelope consistent with those used to package heroin; two plastic bags; four blue wax paper envelopes stamped “Versace;” one white wax paper envelope stamped “Buffalo;” and three syringes, police said.
A search of McNair’s bra revealed a blue wax paper envelope stamped “Versace,” which contained confirmed heroin, police said.
Jenkinson was found to have a blue wax paper envelope stamped “Versace” in the pocket of his shorts ;and three more wax paper envelopes in his wallet, police said.
According to court documents, McNair has been arrested several times on drug-related charges, dating back to 2009; Jenkinson pleaded guilty to robbery in 2008 and was sentenced to jail time and probation.
