An Abington man was arrested late Sunday night after he allegedly fired several shots from a handgun while standing outside of Jerzee’s Sports Bar and Grill in the 2600 block of Mount Carmel Avenue.
According to police, witnesses said Bradley Driscoll, 29, of Abington, fired shots from a handgun at about 11:20 p.m.; one of them struck a pickup truck, which was occupied and just leaving the bar.
Police said a bar employee and bar patrons wrestled the gun away from Driscoll, who then ran on foot toward Penbryn Park; he was later located in the park and taken into custody without incident. Driscoll also had a second handgun in an ankle holster, police said.
No one was injured.
According to police, Driscoll has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, which was issued by Utah. Driscoll does not appear to have a criminal history.
Driscoll is being detained at Abington Police headquarters and is awaiting arraignment; he is being charged with reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.
