Police: Few Details in Case of Missing Abington Woman

The woman went missing Sunday.

Abington Police Deputy Chief John Livingood said today that there are few details in the case of a missing woman from the Jenkintown section of Abington.

Son Mi Song, a 31-year-old mentally-challenged Korean woman, has been missing since Sunday. Song was last seen at her residence — the Colonade apartment complex in the 100 block of Old York Road. Song had recently moved to the area from Maryland.

“The details are few and far between and we’re trying to get more information,” Livingood said.

Livingood said the apartment complex, including all of its common areas, were immediately searched.

“As soon as we hear about a missing person he or she is entered into the National Crime Information Center,” Livingood said. “We put the flyers out and started the investigation immediately.”

Song is 5-foot-1, weighs 110 pounds and has black hair. She was last seen wearing black pants and tennis shoes.

Livingood said Song’s mother reached out to police via an interpreter.

Song is believed to speak some English, but it is unknown how much. Song has no money, purse, phone, credit cards or means of transportation. She may be lost and disoriented.

Anyone with information on Song’s whereabouts is asked to call Abington Police or 9-1-1.
