Man in Phils Hat Robs Abington Bank, Police Say

A man wearing an old-school Phillies hat allegedly robbed an Old York Road bank Saturday morning.

According to police, a man held up the PNC bank located at 123 Old York Road in the Jenkintown section of Abington at about 11:35 a.m. The man allegedly handed the bank clerk a blue bag and a note indicating that he had a gun. It also said to, "give me the money,” police said.

The teller put an undisclosed amount of cash in the provided bag and the alleged robber fled on foot, police said.

The man is described as brown-skinned, about 6-feet tall with a husky build. He was last seen wearing a mustard-colored Carhartt type coat and a burgundy-colored Phillies baseball cap.

The man did not display a gun and no one was injured, police said.
