Man Hit by Train Near Ardsley Station

There's no word on the man's condition.

A man was struck by a SEPTA Regional Rail train near the Ardsley Station in Abington Friday night.

SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch said the incident happened at about 8:40 p.m. and involved an outbound train on the Warminster Line that originated in Center City. The man was hit “very near” to the train platform and was stuck under the third car, Busch said.

The man’s age and condition are unknown.

“At this point, it’s not a fatality, but there’s no indication as to how badly he was hurt,” Busch said. “He was under the train and he was removed by the medics that responded.”

Busch said the scene was cleared “fairly quickly;” service was suspended for about 90 minutes.
