Man Crashes Pickup into Ardsley House, Police Say

The man was more than three times over the legal limit alcohol, according to police.

Abington Police arrested a Glenside man last Wednesday after he crashed into a Garfield Avenue house while allegedly drunk.

According to police, Olivio Solano-Rodriguez, 33, of Easton Road, was driving a silver Ford F-150 at about 8:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn near the corner of Jenkintown Road and Garfield Avenue. As a result, police said he drove through several bushes before crashing into the porch and exterior wall of a house in the 500 block of Garfield Avenue.

When police arrived, Solano-Rodriguez was standing next to the open driver’s side door of the vehicle. Police said Solano-Rodriguez smelled of alcohol and there was a cold, open 40-ounce bottle of Budweiser in the passenger seat, as well as another 40-ounce, sealed bottle of Budweiser on the passenger-side floor.
