Glenside Man Arrested for Impersonating Police Officer in Philly

The Cheltenham man was arrested in connection with a police impersonation case in northeast Philadelphia.

 

Philadelphia police said today that Michael Green, 30, of the 1800 block of Cobden Road, Glenside, was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer, aggravated assault, robbery and related charges stemming from an incident that happened Dec. 5 at 9:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of McMenamy Street in northeast Philadelphia.

6abc reports that Green was one of two men who made a fraudulent traffic stop while driving a Chevrolet Malibu with red and blue flashing emergency lights.

Police did not find the other suspect.

According to the report, both men were armed with guns and forced three people out of a Chevrolet Silverado. The complainants were handcuffed and pushed into the backseat of the truck. The complainants later escaped.
