Fire Prevention Week: Where to Go in Abington

As part of the National Fire Protection Association’s Fire Prevention Week, which runs through Oct. 12, the Abington Township Fire Department will host open houses at each of its five fire companies.

This year's theme is "Prevent Kitchen Fires."

Visitors will be able to view each station’s equipment, speak with volunteer firefighters and learn about fire prevention. Members will also be on-hand to share recruitment information with those interested in joining the fire department.

Each fire company will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The schedule is:
