Fire Leaves Four Displaced

Fire strikes a home on Jackson Avenue in the Glenside section of Upper Dublin.

An afternoon fire in the Glenside section of Upper Dublin displaced four residents. 

Crews from the Fort Washington, Edge Hill and Oreland fire companies responded to a house in the 100 block of Jackson Avenue shortly after 2 p.m.

Fort Washington Fire Chief Eric Clauson said the fire originated in a second-story bedroom and was contained to the second floor; the fire took 15 minutes to get under control.

No one was injured, though the house, which suffered smoke and water damage, is uninhabitable.

The four residents, who were home at the time, are being helped by the American Red Cross.
