Satyavathi Venna died from multiple 'incisive stab wounds.'

The death of Satyavathi Venna, grandmother to missing 10-month-old Saanvi Venna, has officially been ruled a homicide.

PhillyBurbs.com reported that the elder Venna died from multiple "incisive wounds" to the neck and chest, possibly caused by the cutting edge of a knife, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Walter I. Hofman. The autopsy was reportedly performed Tuesday.

Hofman told CBS Philadelphia that the coroner's office spent Tuesday and Wednesday performing investigative work at the murder scene in the Marquis Apartments in King of Prussia.

The coroner's ruling emerged as the reward for information leading to Saanvi Venna's recovery .

The family's relatives in the Guntur district of India publicly appealed for the return of the child on Wednesday.

"Our only concern now is the safety of the baby. We want Saavani to be traced at the earliest and request the U.S. government to put in good efforts in this regard," said Srinivasa Reddy, son-in-law of Satyavathi Venna, according to the Deccan Chronicle.

Satyavathi Venna's body was expected to be returned to India on Saturday, the Chronicle reported.
