Police Brief: Stupid Criminal

Abington Memorial Hospital employee allegedly steals from man having medical procedure

An Abington Memorial Hospital employee was arrested last month after she stole a patient’s wallet, police said.

According to police, Lenita L. Jones, 41, of St. Paul Street, Philadelphia, stole the complainant’s wallet, which included $10 and a Philadelphia Credit Union Visa check card.

Police said Jones used the Visa card to make a $39 purchase at Bath and Body Works and also used the card to pay her residential water bill in the amount of $168.

It ultimately led to her arrest … as water bills are usually attached to an address of some sort.

Jones later admitted to stealing the complainant’s wallet at Abington Police headquarters; she has no prior arrests in Pennsylvania.
