An Abington man was ordered held for trial on Wednesday for his alleged role in the June death of a New Jersey man who was responding to a Craig’s List ad for an ATV in Philadelphia, according to a CBS Philly story.
Thomas Coffee, 23, of the 1900 block of Lukens Avenue, Abington, was arrested and charged on June 22 with murder and related offenses for the death of Daniel Cook, 27, of Williamstown, N.J.
According to the CBS Philly story, Philadelphia prosecutor Nick Liermann said there is evidence that links Coffee to the Craig’s List ad.

“The detectives, through their efforts, were able to use the cell phone evidence to track the defendant coming from the scene of the crime all the way back to his house where ultimately the defendant was found, as well as the cell phone he used,” Liermann said in the story.
According to a Philadelphia Police Department press release, Cook, of the 1400 block of Victory Avenue, Gloucester County, had answered an ad on Craigslist for an all-terrain vehicle. Coffee, authorities allege, had posted the ad and purportedly asked Cook to meet him in the area of East Walnut Lane in Philadelphia to look at the ATV.
After getting out of his car, Cook walked down the street, allegedly with Coffee, and his friends lost sight of him. Soon after, witnesses told police that they heard gunshots. Police received a 911 call at about 11:15 p.m. June 21.
Emergency responders found Cook, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and ankle. He was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m., police said.

According to the story, Coffee will plead not guilty.
