Abington Police Reports — Take This, Nurse

The following reports were taken from the Abington Police records room.

 

Criminal extradition … Stanley Bernard Rogers, 54, of the 100 block of Weaver Street, Philadelphia, was arrested April 14 at 2:29 p.m. near the corner of Township Line and Cardinal roads following a call for a suspicious vehicle, police said. According to police, Rogers said his vehicle overheated and said that he was waiting for it to cool down. Rogers had an active arrest warrant out of Maryland and was detained for extradition.

Retail theft … Kendall Nauman, 27, of the 1400 block of Keener Road, Bainbridge, Pa., was arrested April 13 at 8:05 p.m. in Target after she placed eight cans of baby formula in a reusable shopping bag and left without attempting to pay, police said. According to police, Nauman was identified through fingerprints. Nauman has one prior conviction for retail theft; the value of the baby formula was $184.

Terroristic threats and possession of an instrument of crime … Oshea S. Jenkins, 35, of the 1200 block of Nolen Road, Roslyn, was arrested April 9 after she turned herself in to Abington police. According to police, a complainant said on April 8 that while the complainant was standing in the 1600 block of Summit Avenue, placing the complainant’s 2-month-old child in the rear seat of a vehicle, Jenkins and another woman approached the complainant. Jenkins approached the complainant and had a blue-handled 6-inch knife in her hand. Jenkins began a verbal argument and threatened to cut the complainant, police said. According to police, there was no physical fight, but the complainant felt the complainant might be stabbed or cut. Jenkins and the complainant knew each other, police said.

Access device fraud, identity theft and forgery … Jean Souza, 36, of the 700 block of Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, was arrested April 3 after he admitted to cashing a fraudulent check for $2,100 on March 20, police said.

According to police, a complainant in the 1400 block of North Hills Avenue called police on March 23 and said that someone had removed two blank checks from the complainant’s checkbook.

The check was cashed at Cottman Check Cashing Co. in the 5000 block of Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia.

Souza admitted to cashing the check and said that he still had the money and could “return it if needed.”

DUI and driving with a DUI-suspended license … Carl Wade Blake Jr., 47, of the 1000 block of Edge Hill Road, Abington, was arrested March 28 at 11:47 p.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Woodland Road and Rothley Avenue for not using his turn signal for three separate turns, police said. According to police, Blake had a DUI-suspended license, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. He failed a field sobriety test but refused a blood test.

DUI and careless driving … Buzzie M. Cooper, 65, of the 500 block of Washington Lane, Jenkintown, was arrested March 23 at 7:54 p.m. in the 300 block of Easton Road after he struck an unoccupied parked car near the corner of Easton Road and Keswick Avenue with his vehicle’s passenger-side mirror, police said. According to police, Cooper smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and said that he had several beers earlier in the day. He failed several field sobriety tests; his blood tested positive for the presence of drugs and alcohol, police said.

Possession of a controlled substance … Katie Jarnutowski, 21, of the 100 block of Church Road, Chalfont, was arrested March 21 at 11:22 p.m. after she handed five small bags of confirmed heroin to an emergency room nurse while she was being treated at Abington Memorial Hospital for a vehicle crash, police said. According to police, each bag contained 0.12 grams of heroin.

DUI … Diego Osorio, 19, of the 1200 block of Dixon Lane, Rydal, was arrested March 17 at 12:28 a.m. following a traffic stop for driving his silver Chevrolet Cobalt with a malfunctioning head light near the corner of Huntingdon Pike and San Gabriel Avenue, police said. According to police, there was a strong smell of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Osorio admitted to smoking marijuana within the past two hours. His blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana, police said.

DUI and careless driving … Jammie Lee Welsh, 24, of the 900 block of Tennis Avenue, Ardsley, was arrested March 14 at 12:19 a.m. following a crash near the corner of Central and Lincoln avenues, police said. According to police, Welsh, who was found in the driver’s seat of an Acura MDX, lost control of the SUV and struck three parked vehicles. Welsh was screaming and bleeding from the nose.

According to police, Welsh said she had four or five drinks earlier. The Second Alarmers removed her from the vehicle; she had a blood alcohol content of 0.146 percent.

DUI … Gregory Malloy, 27, of the 900 block of Langdon Avenue, Horsham, was arrested Feb. 9 at 1:46 a.m. near the corner of Easton Road and Parkdale Avenue following a traffic stop for driving his blue Acura Integra without its headlights on, police said. When asked if he was drinking, Malloy said he was “the designated driver.” According to police, Malloy said he was coming from Plush and said he had one or two drinks.  He had glassy, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a staggered gait. He failed several field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.89 percent; his blood also tested positive for the presence of marijuana, police said.
