Who hasn't fallen asleep with his car on ... and in reverse?

 

Receiving stolen property, theft and fleeing and eluding police … Thomas Walton Coffee, 22, of Lukens Avenue, Willow Grove, was arrested Oct. 5 at 5:31 p.m. in the 1600 block of Franklin Avenue after police saw a green Kawasaki dirt bike driving northbound on Reservoir Avenue near Rubicam Avenue without having registration or lighting, police said. When police attempted to stop the dirt bike, it accelerated and turned into a grass field at Crestmont Park. According to police, another police officer saw the dirt bike heading southbound on Easton Road a short time later. The suspect, later identified as Coffee, was ultimately arrested in the 1600 block of Franklin Avenue; the dirt bike was hidden under a plastic pool in the rear of a property in the 1600 block of Franklin Avenue. According to police, the dirt bike was reported stolen out of Upper Moreland in October 2008.

DUI and reckless driving … Robert John Marcolina, 24, of Abington Avenue, Glenside, was arrested Oct. 3 at 5:49 a.m. in the 700 block of Jackson Avenue after he crashed into a parked trailer, police said. According to police, Marcolina smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. He failed a field sobriety test, had a blood alcohol content of 0.179 and his blood tested positive for the presence of Delta-9 THC.

DUI and careless driving … Jasmine Marina Rivera, 25, of Federal Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Sept. 30 at 2:15 a.m. after she was seen driving over the median on Old York Road as she left Kitchen Bar restaurant, police said. According to police, Rivera’s eyes were watery and bloodshot. Rivera said she was unfamiliar with the area, having moved to the area recently. Rivera smelled of alcohol, said she had two glasses of wine at 8 p.m., failed three field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.158 percent, police said.

DUI and careless driving … Feliks Aloian, 46, of Heights Lane, Langhorne, was arrested Sept. 30 at 12:45 a.m. following a traffic stop on Huntingdon Pike near Holy Redeemer Village for swerving over the double yellow line, police said. According to police, Aloian smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and said he had one drink earlier in the evening. Aloian failed two field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.250 percent.

Possession of a controlled substance … Andrew McCaughey, 39, of Penn Avenue, Glenside, was arrested Sept. 1 following a traffic stop in the corner of North Hills Avenue and Limekiln Pike for not having insurance, police said. According to police, McCaughey was nervous and shaking. There were several burnt copper Brillo pads — a common component of crack pipes — on the driver’s side floor. During a search of the vehicle, police found three green baggies and three pink baggies containing confirmed cocaine, as well as a crack pipe constructed of aluminum foil and Brillo pads.

DUI … Catherine Margaret Shinn, 24, of Rockwell Road, Abington, was arrested Aug. 26 at 5:57 a.m. following reports of a suspicious vehicle parked near the corner of Rubicam and Ferndale avenues, police said. Police found Shinn sleeping behind the wheel of a green Oldsmobile Alero. The keys were in the ignition, the vehicle was running and the car was in reverse. There was a syringe in Shinn’s hand and a rubber band around her arm.
