Retail theft … Nafiz Joval Abdul-Hamid, 20, of McKinley Street, Philadelphia, was arrested July 21 at 3 p.m. after a Sears loss prevention officer saw a man, later identified as Abdul-Hamid, steal three Casio digital watches and leave through a second-floor exit, police said. Abdul-Hamid was found on the first level of the mall, but the watches couldn’t be located. According to police, there is video surveillance of the theft; Abdul-Hamid has one prior conviction for retail theft.

Retail theft … Janine Catherine Ford, 51, of Geneva Avenue, Glenside, was arrested July 19 at 11:28 a.m. after a Macy’s loss prevention officer said Ford made a purchase and then selected several items, went into a fitting room and concealed them in a shopping bag, and left without attempting to pay, police said.

DUI and careless driving … William Delany, 42, of Township Line Road, Jenkintown, was arrested July 15 at 2:09 a.m. near the corner of Jenkintown Road and Elk Avenue after he was seen crossing the double yellow lines on three separate occasions, police said. At one point, Delany was completely in the westbound lane as he drove east on Jenkintown Road. According to police, Delany smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He fell backward during a field sobriety test and needed assistance from falling. He refused a breath test.

DUI and careless driving … Alexandra Kapnek, 22, of Signal Hill Road, Dresher, was arrested July 8 at 1:35 a.m. after she blew a red light in the corner of North Hills Avenue and Limekiln Pike, almost striking a vehicle driving southbound on Limekiln Pike, police said. According to police, there was a strong odor of alcohol on Kapnek’s breath. Kapnek stumbled as she exited her vehicle, failed two field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.147 percent. Her blood also tested positive for the presence of marijuana.

Possession of a controlled substance … Charles Garrett Finney, 30, of Cedar Lane, Glenside, was arrested July 7 at 4:16 a.m. following a pedestrian stop near the corner of Hazel Avenue and Locust Road after he was seen walking down the center of Hazel Avenue, police said. According to police, Finney said he was coming from the VFW. He had bloodshot eyes and was extremely nervous and kept putting his hands in his pockets. During a pat down, police found 10 yellow oval pills and two half-oval pills. The pills were later identified as oxycodone and acetaminophen. Finney did not have a prescription for the pills.

DUI … Tomeka S. Magee, 33, of Frontenac Street, Philadelphia, was arrested July 7 at 2:32 a.m. at a DUI checkpoint in the 700 block of Huntingdon Pike, police said. According to police, there was a faint odor of marijuana coming from Magee’s vehicle and she admitted to smoking marijuana two hours prior to driving and admitted to drinking 2-and-a-half to three glasses of wine. She also admitted that there was a blunt in the vehicle. Magee failed a field sobriety test, had a blood alcohol content of 0.052 percent and her blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana, police said.

DUI … Daniel Barrett, 30, of Loney Street, Rockledge, was arrested July 7 at 2:15 a.m. at a DUI checkpoint in the 700 block of Huntingdon Pike, police said. According to police, Barrett smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and had an open bottle of Stella Artois in his vehicle. Barrett failed several field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.111 percent.

DUI … Drew Suchodolski, 27, of Waldemire Drive, Philadelphia, was arrested July 7 at 1:50 a.m. at a DUI checkpoint in the 700 block of Huntingdon Pike, police said. According to police, he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and failed three field sobriety tests. Suchodolski had a blood alcohol content of 0.089 percent.
