Abington Police Reports

The following police reports were taken from the Abington Police records room.

 

Indirect criminal contempt/protection from abuse violation … An arrest warrant was issued July 12 for Brian John Kelly, 48, of Old Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, after he was seen driving up the rear driveway of the complainant’s place of work, Holy Redeemer Hospital, on Huntingdon Pike on July 11 at 11:30 p.m. after the complainant had finished a 12-hour shift, police said. According to police, the complainant was visibly upset and shaking after the complainant saw Kelly. The complainant said Kelly has been arrested in the past for violating the PFA and said that Kelly has been harassing the complainant for a year.

Video surveillance shows Kelly’s vehicle in the driveway and it shows the complainant jumping back and hiding in the bushes.

Indirect Criminal contempt/protection from abuse violation … An arrest warrant was issued July 11 for Charles Bashew, 47, of North Cascade Drive, Mount Laurel, N.J., after he violated a PFA by sending three emails to the complainant between July 3 and July 9, police said. One of the emails reads: “You must be a great mom who takes care of her kids. Your [sic] not even home and i [sic] can tell it …”

Receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle … Gerard McDonald, 29, of Fairview Avenue, Willow Grove, was arrested July 11 at 10:42 p.m. in the area of Rosemore and Sylvania avenues following a traffic stop for having an invalid registration on a green Yamaha motorcycle, police said. According to police, McDonald provided miscellaneous paperwork and said that the registration was transferred from another motorcycle; he could not provide registration or a title for the bike. Police recovered the VIN from the motorcycle’s frame; a records check revealed that the vehicle was stolen in May 2010 from Pottstown.

Simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct … Aleah Helania Crawford, 19, of Easton Road, Roslyn, was arrested July 4 following a June 29 altercation in which Crawford punched the complainant in the back of the head near the corner of Heston Street and Bradfield Road, police said. According to police, one of the complainants approached Crawford as she was arguing with another man, yelling profanities. The complainant asked the two to stop using profanity as there were children in the area; the unidentified man then punched the complainant in the face. 

DUI … Joseph S. Sosinavage, 47, of Tyson Avenue, Abington, arrested June 30 in the corner of Martin and Township Line roads following a traffic stop after he was seen driving in the wrong lane near the corner of Township Line and Church roads, police said. According to police, Sosinavage smelled of alcohol; he said he had a couple of beers a few hours ago. Sosinavage refused to participate in field sobriety tests. A blood test revealed that Sosinavage had a blood alcohol content of 0.142 percent.
