Bulging purses, bulging socks

 

Retail theft …  Dana L. Arnold, 27, of Doerr Road, Quakertown; and Elizabeth A. Wilson, 27, of Tollgate Road, Zionsville, were arrested May 22 at 9:27 p.m. after a Sears loss prevention officer saw Arnold and Wilson enter fitting rooms and both leave with bulging purses. Both attempted to leave through the second-floor mall exit without paying for the merchandise. Wilson had $157 worth of merchandise in her possession, Arnold had $303.

Retail theft … Peter Muse, 44, of High Avenue, Willow Grove, was arrested May 19 at 10:08 a.m. after he stole two boxes of Trojan Magnum condoms, worth a total of $15, from kmart and then fled, police said. He was caught in the lower level of the Willow Grove Park mall parking garage.

DUI and underage drinking … Chloe Acker, 19, of Mt. Carmel Avenue, Glenside, was arrested May 13 at 2:04 a.m. near the corner of Susquehanna and Valley roads following a traffic stop for swerving and tailgating, police said. According to police, Acker had bloodshot and watery eyes and there was an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Acker had a blood alcohol content of 0.168 percent. Her passenger, Christopher Norman, 18, of Purdie Lane, Maple Glen, was cited for underage drinking.

DUI and driving without a license … Steven Pinkett, 57, of Wyndale Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested May 13 at 12:16 a.m. near the corner of Moreland and Rockledge avenues after he was seen driving a silver Nissan Maxima with smoke emanating from the front of car, police said. According to police, Pinkett’s vehicle did not have a front right tire — it was driving on the wheel. Pinkett, who was driving 10 mph, said he was going “home, right down the street,” though he lives in Philadelphia. He smelled of alcohol, had an expired license and had a blood alcohol content of 0.211 percent.

Retail theft … Luis Navarro, 32, of Flushing Avenue, Maspeth, N.Y., was arrested May 12 after he attempted to steal $489 worth of merchandise from Gap in Willow Grove Park mall, police said. According to police, Navarro selected 12 pieces of merchandise, entered a fitting room and left the fitting room with large bulges on his legs and waist — he stuffed the merchandise in his pants and in his socks.

Felony drug possession … Shawn E. Davis, 25, of Old York Road, Jenkintown, was arrested May 11 at 10 p.m. following a traffic stop for expired registration near the corner of Township Line Road and Washington Lane, police said. According to police, Davis’ vehicle smelled of marijuana and there was a silver, metallic marijuana grinder on the passenger seat. Davis had $576 in cash on him and said, “There might be a few blunts in the ashtray, do you wanna search?” Police found a scale with marijuana residue in the center console, several plastic sandwich bags in the glove box and a large, clear, 1-gallon bag of suspected marijuana under the gear shifter, police said.
