You hold the white trash bag full of shirts; I'll cause a distraction.

 

Uniform criminal extradition act … Luis Patino, 33, of Lansdale Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested Sept. 25 at 5:36 p.m. following a traffic stop for having expired registration near the corner of Susquehanna and Rydal roads, police said. According to police, Patino had an outstanding warrant for a “dangerous drug offense” out of Union County and was detained.

Possession of a small amount of marijuana … Brandon Lawrence Boynton, 20, of Osceola Avenue, Elkins Park, was arrested Sept. 18 at 1:39 a.m. in the 200 block of Cadwalader Avenue, police said. According to police, Boynton had a black Walther semi-automatic pellet gun in his possession and a glass jar of marijuana in his pants pocket. The pellet gun was taken in as evidence “for further investigation,” police said.

DUI and driving with a suspended license … Kisha Teasley, 34, of Lower State Road, North Wales, was arrested Sept. 18 at 11:36 p.m. following a traffic stop on Township Line Road near Susan Drive for driving with malfunctioning registration tag lights, police said. Teasley was also driving with a suspended license — she said she was going to court in a couple of weeks to get it back. According to police, Teasley smelled of alcohol, had glassy and bloodshot eyes and said she had a few glasses of wine earlier. Teasley failed three field sobriety tests, failed a portable breath test and refused a blood test.

Retail theft … Michael Zallie, 34, of Old York Road, Jenkintown, was arrested Sept. 17 at 4:10 p.m. in Bloomingdale’s in Willow Grove Park mall after he selected $625 worth of merchandise and left through the cosmetic department doors without paying, police said. According to police, Zallie struggled with loss prevention officers.

DUI and careless driving … Maria Gonzales, 52, of Mount Carmel Avenue, Glenside, was arrested Sept. 16 at 12:45 a.m. following a traffic stop for speeding while driving westbound on Mount Carmel Avenue near Keswick Avenue, police said. According to police, Gonzales was swerving over the double yellow line. Gonzales said she had two glasses of wine earlier, had bloodshot eyes and a flushed face, and failed a field sobriety test. Gonzales did not provide a breath test and said she wished to speak to an attorney, police said.

Forgery and bad checks … Montez L. Brooker, 25, of Courtland Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Sept. 12 at Niagara Bank at 761 Huntingdon Pike after he attempted to cash a check for $250, police said. According to police, bank employees said Brooker had tried to cash a $600 check at the bank on Sept. 4. Brooker admitted to cashing bad checks on multiple occasions.

Possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and prohibited weapons offense …  Jose Antonio Morales, 28, of Sheldon Avenue, Bristol, was arrested Sept. 12 following a traffic stop for having expired registration near the corner of Township Line and Martin roads, police said. According to police, there was a pipe containing marijuana residue in the center console and a pair of metal knuckles in the vehicle’s trunk. Morales was also driving without insurance, police said.

Defiant trespass … Danny Pendergrass, 20, of Stevens Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Sept. 9 at 5:47 p.m. after a Macy’s loss prevention officer detained him, police said. According to police, Pendergrass was informed in writing not to return to the store following a December 2010 theft.

Retail theft … Darline Shirley, 22, of North 15th Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Sept. 9 at 5:24 p.m. at Old Navy on Moreland Road after she attempted to leave the store with a white trash bag containing $522 worth of merchandise for which she did not pay, police said. According to police, Shirley dropped the bag in the store’s parking lot and store employees recovered it.

Shirley will be formally arraigned Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m.

Criminal conspiracy … Cherise Williams, 42, of D Street, Philadelphia, was arrested in the above incident after she handed the white trash bag to Shirley while in Old Navy on Moreland Road, police said. According to police, Williams also distracted employees while Shirley attempted to exit the store.

Williams was also arrested in Cheltenham in April 2005 for retail theft. 

Possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia … Kevon Nivek Hamilton, 20, of Albanus Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 13 at 1:34 p.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Park Avenue and Moreland Road for driving 51 mph in a 35 mph-zone, police said. According to police, there was a large amount of cash in Hamilton’s glove box and a ballistic vest in the trunk of Hamilton’s vehicle. Hamilton said he had the vest because he used to work at a strip club in Philadelphia; he said his godmother gave him the cash as a birthday gift. Police also found 400 orange-tinted plastic baggies in the trunk of Hamilton’s vehicle. Hamilton had a warrant out of Philadelphia for drug possession, police said.

DUI, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving and possession of a small amount of marijuana … Michael Glauges, 20, of Greenwood Avenue, Upper Darby, was arrested Aug. 11 at 3:57 a.m. after he quickly accelerated near the corner of Old York and Moreland roads, nearly ejecting himself from his Honda Motorcycle, police said. Police attempted to stop Glauges near the corner of Wheatsheaf Lane and Old York Road, but did not stop. Police then pulled next to Glauges’ vehicle near the corner of Old York Road and The Fairway and verbally told him to stop, but he shook his head and continued southbound on Old York Road. According to police, Glauges ultimately stopped at the IHOP in Jenkintown. He smelled strongly of alcohol and was incoherent. His blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana and his blood alcohol content was 0.175 percent.

DUI and careless driving … Charles McLaughlin, 28, of Salmon Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 7 at 1:39 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Woodcrest and Old York roads for accelerating rapidly, speeding and nearly striking the curb, police said. According to police, McLaughlin smelled of alcohol, had glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and poor manual dexterity. He was unsteady on his feet, failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.126 percent.
