Shiny side down.

 

Retail theft … Mara Pelosi, 58, of Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, was arrested Jan. 7 at 4:24 p.m. in Macy’s in Willow Grove Park mall after she hid $387 worth of merchandise in a stroller while in a fitting room and left the store without paying, police said.

DUI and following too closely … Timothy P. Conway, 53, of Stratford Avenue, Abington, was arrested Jan. 6 at 9:16 p.m. following a two-vehicle crash near the corner of Old Welsh and Easton roads, police said. No one was injured. According to police, Conway smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech, glassy eyes and had trouble with his balance. He flailed his arms during a field sobriety test and was unable to complete the tests. Conway refused a breath test.

Retail theft … Ciara Latifah Mearion, 26, of McKean Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested Jan. 5 at 4 p.m. at Bloomingdale’s in Willow Grove Park mall after she stole a Michael Kors purse worth $398, police said.

Simple assault and harassment … Atticus Weaver, 20, of Guernsey Avenue, Abington, was arrested Jan. 3 at 8:20 p.m. at his residence after the complainant said Weaver knocked him to the ground, climbed on top of him and tried to strangle him, police said. The complainant was not injured. According to police, Weaver then came down the stairs yelling, “I did it. It got out of hand, I was wrong.” Weaver denied attempted to strangle the complainant.

In the car on the way to the police station, Weaver said, he “clobbered” the complainant.

Weaver was also arrested in August 2011 and in November – both times for allegedly stealing cough medicine.

Criminal mischief, terroristic threats and stalking … Mark M. Reynolds, 28, of Tulpehocken Avenue, Elkins Park, was arrested Dec. 27 at 7:37 a.m. following a disturbance call to the 300 block of Tulpehocken Avenue in which the complainant said he saw Reynolds throw a black bike peg through his front door, police said. According to police, when Reynolds was arrested he said, “Yeah, you’re damn right I broke your front door.” On Dec. 26 Reynolds also made three threatening phone calls to the complainant’s home phone, police said. Reynolds has a history of harassing this family, according to police.

DUI and reckless driving … Sean Michael Mullelly, 21, of Stevens Road, Philadelphia, was arrested Dec. 20 at 3:08 a.m. following a crash in the 1600 block of Susquehanna Road, police said. According to police, when they arrived on the scene, they saw a blue Nissan Sentra on its roof in the westbound lane and saw the defendant sitting next to the car on the ground. Mullelly said he had seven beers and was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, police said. An accident investigation revealed that Mullelly was traveling eastbound on Susquehanna Road, crossed the double yellow lines, left the roadway, struck a tree and flipped his car, police said. His blood alcohol content was 0.236 percent.
