An Abington Police Detective, who is also a member of the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested a Lansdale man for allegedly possessing child pornography, according to a story on the reporteronline.com.

John Randall Scott, 33, of the 300 block of East Hancock Street, was arrested Dec. 2 and charged with 21 counts of child pornography, a felony, according to court documents. He waived his preliminary hearing and is scheduled to be formally arraigned Jan. 29.

According to the story, the task force was trying to identify people sharing child pornography via a peer-to-peer file-sharing network with a Comcast IP address based in Lansdale. The Comcast subscriber did not have any child pornography on his or her computer, but the person runs a boarding home ... and Scott was one of the tenants, according to the story.

Investigators seized a computer and a gaming console, in which Montco Detectives allegedly found sexually explicit images of children under the age of 18, the story continued.

Scott, who does not appear to have a criminal history, is out on $50,000 bail, according to court documents.
