Corbett, Get to Work!

Gov. Corbett has now found his spine. He used his power to veto a line item in the new budget just signed. He cut out the $65 Million earmarked for funding the running of the Senate & House operations. Don’t feel too bad for these part timers who are paid a full time salary. It seems that these pirates have their own slush fund of $153 Million. How they got this large sum of money is anyone’s guess. It would seem to me that this money belongs to the taxpayers, as such it should be used to offset budget deficits. Instead, they look to increase our taxes I.E. the gas tax and associated increases in fees and taxes for road improvements.

This do nothing Legislature, who will not Privatize the State Store’s or deal with the pension reform, needed to keep the state from insolvency, deserves to be put out of business. It may be too little too late to save his, Corbett’s, re-election but his opponent has said absolutely nothing on the subjects. Hoping to capitalize on the riff between Corbett and the legislature, his opponent, Wolf, has offered nothing with regard to these issues. He just lurks behind the scenes, a Wolf in sheep’s clothing.

This may be a political move out of desperation on Corbett’s part. I could care less. Whatever his motives this sheds light on the shear wasteful nature of the State Legislature. Aside from the previous mentioned inaction of the legislature, add to it the bill that would eliminate the school property tax for everyone, or the reduction of the size of legislature that they all give lip service to but have done nothing about.

Just remember who these people work for. Remind them, repeatedly, of the responsibility WE give to them. We, not he unions, not the lobbyist, not the Multi-Millionaire’s, we the citizens of this state, the taxpayers, the voters.
